Our client is a leading %100 international chemical company. Turkey is critical business to the growth of the company.

Currently, we are in search of a Business Unit Sales Manager (İstanbul) who will be responsible for the overall products for Personal Care, Cosmetics and Food industries’ management from sourcing suppliers to new business development.

This position will be directly reporting to Managing Director in Turkey.

The purpose of the role and the key success factor is to act as a challenging leader for conducting market studies on potential new product opportunities by contacting customers to market demand across Turkey.

Main Responsibilities:

  • You will be a key thought partner to the Turkey Sales Team and be responsible for the entire life sciences sales function of the company encompassing managing supplier relations, extending the portfolio, and setting targets for new business development.

Key Responsibilities: 

Sales Activities

  • Managing sales and product activities for Personal Care, Cosmetics and Food Industries
  • Planning, monitoring and achievement of own sales targets
  • Achieving annual sales targets focusing on net profit
  • Implementing strategies for profitable sales growth and ensuring customers understand company’s payment and stock policies
  • Visiting customers regularly including accurate and visible reporting on all sales activities in the customer management system
  • Managing and developing customers both commercially and technically through regular contact
  • Keeping close contact and strengthens good relationship with strategic clients as well as suppliers.

New Business Development

  • Extending the portfolio and setting targets for new business development
  • Managing and developing customers both commercially and technically through regular contact
  • Monitoring market developments; regulations and implementation of market-oriented strategies
  • Keep up with changes and updates in the product portfolio and in the market
  • Identify and report potential sales growth opportunities and factors which could influence the Company’s local marketing plans and objectives.
  • Establish strong business relationships with existing customer base and develop value relationships with potential clients to expand business.

Sales Admin Operations

  • Providing technical and commercial support to customers (including payments)
  • Managing supplier relations (pricing, market feedbacks, reporting, project updates etc.)


  • University degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related fields
  • Average 10 years’ experience in the chemical distribution business
  • Preferably product, technical and market knowledge of personal care, cosmetics, and food industry
  • Proven track record as a growth-oriented sales professional
  • Good interpersonal and coordination skills and customer oriented
  • Fluency in both written and spoken English
  • The ability to negotiate prices and contracts
  • Flexibility in style: able to operate at 30,000 ft and 3 ft
  • High level of honesty, integrity, commitment, and responsibility
  • No travel restrictions.
